AM1 presents The 2012 Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Evening

On Tuesday 23rd October 2012, Anthony and the AM1 team will be hosting a charity evening at The Marriott Hotel, Preston, on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. This special evening is dedicated not only to raising the profile and awareness of Macmillan’s work, but to celebrate the achievements of those affected by cancer.

The evening will open with welcome drinks to give Anthony the opportunity to meet and greet each of his guests. This will be followed by a visual presentation that will relive the past 12 months at AM1, from their journey setting up the salon to raising their profile in the media. And of course, there will be a fashion show, featuring the latest mens and ladies hair trends, before breaking off for a beautiful sit-down meal. When everyone is fed and watered, the evening will culminate with a presentation made to Macmillan, including the funds raised through our charity skydive in August, which you can read all about here.

Anthony has the honour of being named an official Macmillan Ambassador, thanks to the work he has done raising funds and awareness for the charity. Anthony has raised over ?70,000 to date, and has no intention of stopping there. Looking towards the future, AM1 is planning to host an annual Summer Fashion Show and an annual Winter Ball. Both of these events will continue to raise the profile of Macmillan, along with other local charities specific to each event. The proceeds from these evenings of entertainment will be donated to Macmillan and the sponsored charity for each particular event.

Tickets are ?25 and will be available from the salon.

Over 300,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. These people suffer the physical effects of the disease, but thousands more people such as friends and relatives, feel, see and deal with the emotional devastation that cancers brings. This charity evening aims to recognise the journeys that many of these people take, and raise the profile of the work that Macmillan Cancer Support do to assist them.
